What Covid-19 relaxation of restrictions means for us

after Monday 19th July 2021

Following consultation with parishioners, and in line with their suggestions,

Fr Jim and Deacon John, respectfully propose the following course of action from Monday 19th July until further notice:

We will continue to ask you to sanitise your hands on entering and leaving

the church for Mass or for times of private prayer.

We will ask you to continue wearing masks all the time you are at Mass.

We will continue the spacing of the pews to maintain a 1 metre distance          from the people around you.  To this end we would ask you

not to kneel or stand if this will mean you are

less than a metre from the people in front of you.

We will not return to congregational singing just yet.

We will comply the NHS Track and Trace system.

At weekday Masses we ask you to scan the QR Code or put your name and contact number on the list at the entrance to the church.

At weekend Masses we will continue to ask you to book in for Mass

though I will try to be more efficient in ensuring that regular attenders

are always on this list, and only those intermittent attenders need register either by QR code or by giving their name and contact number.

Check with the steward to make sure if you are on the list.

Fr Jim needs your help in protecting himself from Covid-19,

the Flu and lung infections which we are assured will hit us,

and put strain on the NHS, in the winter months.

We will continue to monitor the situation.

Deacon John Boughton

16th July 2021

Any further changes will be considered by the Bishops of England and Wales

in the light of future government changes to the regulations.

A small choir of up to 6 singers is  allowed though indoor congregational singing is not expected to be permitted until at least 19 July - and this date may be extended.

To ensure the best Covid -19 safely measures are applied for

everyone's protection, you will have to book in for weekend Masses:

the best way is to email Dcn John on

johnboughton@sky.com  or text/call John

(his number is on the Bulletin accessible via the Parish website: www.virginmotherofgoodcounsel.com.)

Please arrive in good time to allow for mask donning,

hand sanitizing and name recording.

Hands - Face - Space

Please also remember to maintain social distancing in the

car park and  on the steps leading up to the church.

Thank you.

As ever, stewards are needed for Saturday vigil and Sunday masses to ensure

everyone's safety precautions.

If you are able to assist please contact Dcn John.

Fr. Jim will continue to Broadcast/Stream masses via

With every blessing
Dcn John
